Darkroom Dispatch: November Edition

Welcome to this month’s Darkroom Dispatch! Here, we share updates, events, and highlights from the SW Darkroom community to keep you connected and inspired.

Special Invitation: 70:15:40 Project UK – Opening Night on 21 November

Our founder, Melissa Magnuson, is thrilled to invite you to the opening night of the 70:15:40 Project UK exhibition, a Royal Photographic Society-sponsored event addressing the gender gap in photography. Despite women making up 70% of photography students, only 15% pursue professional careers, with an average pay gap of 40% compared to men. This initiative seeks to support and highlight the work of women, trans, and non-binary photographers in the UK.

Event Details:

  • Date: 21 November 2024, 6-9pm

  • Featured Artists: Hanna Ali, Roman Manfredi, Violeta Sofia, Paloma Tendero

  • Exhibition Duration: Until 3 December (Mon-Fri: 11am–5pm, Sat/Sun: 10am–5pm)

If you’d like to join the opening night, please register here.
